Brandee Ambrosia's Avon 3 Day Walk PledgePage

Dear Family and Friends,

Please support me in my commitment to make a difference!

This last year has prompted reflection and a life's change. As you may know, Jeff and I lost our sister-in-law, Kelli to Breast Cancer in June. And now our family is focused on a recent diagnosis of my grandmother with pancreatic cancer. My heart breaks and I struggle with explaining why; yet I refuse to give up the fight. With the loss of Kelli, I pledged a life-long commitment as an advocate and a participant in the effort to find a cure for this devastating disease. Many of you supported me in September as I participated in a ½ marathon fundraiser for women's cancers. Amazingly, I was able to raise nearly $5,000 in that cause. It was heartwarming and rewarding to be a part of such a significant effort.

Now for the 2nd step: I have committed to 60 miles in the "Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk" in San Diego, April 12-14, 2002. For 3 days, I will don my walking shoes and along with about 3,000 other people I will walk, walk, walk, and walk some more in order to raise funds to support non-profit breast health programs and breast cancer research. Participants will include concerned individuals, cancer survivors, and family members of lost loved ones, all sharing in the goal of finding a cure and improved treatment for this cruel disease. The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade puts an emphasis on reaching the medically underserved, including low-income, elderly, and minority women. I believe that nobody should be left without a fighting chance against this disease.

Here's where I need your help. I have agreed to raise at least $1,900 for this event, but have set a goal of doubling that pledge. I would be thrilled if you would consider making a fully tax-deductible donation on my behalf. You may contribute on-line through this site. If you prefer to donate in the form of a check, please make payable to Avon Breast Cancer Crusade and send your donation to:
Brandee Ambrosia, 1511 Blue Lane, Roseville, CA 95747.

I would be proud to honor someone special to you, a survivor, someone currently fighting the fight, or someone you have lost to this disease. Please share with me their name, so that I may wear a ribbon honoring them throughout my 3-Day journey on your behalf.

Thank you in advance for your giving heart!

Sincerely, Brandee Ambrosia
